Kakishibu and Coptic

July 27 – 28, 2013 Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 – 5:00 pm

Instructor: Heather Allen Hietala Cost: $217 (not including a $25 – $35 which will be charged at class)

Description: This class will introduce the wonders of kakishibu while creating a wonderful Coptic sewn blank journal. Kakishibu is a natural persimmon dye from Japan that imparts a wonderful warm brown tone to paper and cloth. Students will create collaged covers that will be finished with kakishibu to create a wonderful brown leathery effect.
