Description: The goal of this class is to increase participant’s familiarity and experience with letterpress printing, and to develop printing skills and techniques. Each student will produce a single signature pamphlet stitched book or a broadside, using a text and theme of their choosing. We will focus on topics such as letterpress project planning, mixing ink, and multiple run registration. We will also explore ways to fine-tune your printing skills through roller height adjustment and tympan packing choices. The final result of this class will be the completion of a full letterpress printed project and development of the skills needed to print independently.

Students will learn how to adjust roller height, change packing on the impression carraige and general maintenance of the machine as well.
