Sept. 14 & 15, 2013
Saturday & Sunday, 10 – 5

Instructor: Kreh Mellick and Dana Fehsenfeld
Cost: $217 (not including a $20-$40 materials fee to be determined at the end of the class)

Description: This class will be about the guts of the book, fast books, simple stories and making drawing accessible to the bookbinder. Drawing can sometimes seem unattainable, rigorous and daunting, but it is a skill we all have, a muscle sometimes left to collect dust, but longing to make itself known. This class will put our very basic drawing skills to the test, creating narratives or simple sequences of drawn imagery. Centered around fun and imagination. We will take this a step further into screen printing, to create a small run of fast books or a sheet of drawn images. Over the course of the class we will work to create images suitable for a screen, to be printed on a large single page. We will walk through the steps of preparing and exposing a screen, print the imagery and assembled into a fast book.   The class will be focused on fun and fast drawing and problem solving, we will not be creating novellas or in depth narratives.
