Box Making: Hinged and Lidded Boxes

November 5-6
Saturday & Sunday 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Bridget Elmer, Instructor
$228, includes $25 materials fee for PVA, Methyl Cellulose, Book Board, & a selection of book cloth

The second in a series of boxmaking workshops, this class will focus on the construction of two box forms, one with a hinged lid, attached to the tray, and one with a detached lid that can be completely removed from the tray. These structures provide a concise introduction to boxmaking and also build a great foundation for the construction of case bound books. Students will have the opportunity to build custom boxes for chosen objects, or simply choose pleasing dimensions and build a few boxes to be filled in the future! No prerequisite. All levels welcome.
