Artist Journals and Sketchbooks – CALL FOR ENTRIES / PROSPECTUS
BookWorks Gallery is seeking work for an upcoming show of handmade journals and sketchbooks. Often hidden away on a shelf in the artist’s studio, or tucked into a bag on a trip, these personal books often offer a rare glimpse at an artist’s process. These are the books that have been put to use, either as a written or as a sketchbook, and frequently a combination of both images and text. These books, equally as inspiring to the artist who made them as to the viewer seeing them for the first time, are windows into creative minds on a different level than finished artwork. They are personal journeys, and we invite artists to open their books and share with us their creative voyages.
Exhibition Dates: January 14 – February 28, 2011
Entry Requirements: Artists may submit up to three entries. Digital images of individual pages from the entries must be received no later than December 15, 2010. Artists accepted for the exhibition will be notified via email by December 20, 2010. The gallery reserves the right to decline any accepted artwork upon delivery if the condition or quality are other than represented in the electronic entry.
